We are currently hiring a Director of Engineering for Solarwinds Cloud who can build and grow our globally distributed teams. This person should have strong foundations in technology while equally balanced talents in running our business efficiently. We are looking for outstanding skills in the following areas:

Project Management - Lead and own complex projects, Agile software development, COGs management, and being predictable.

You must enjoy leading teams who are working on large-scale distributed systems problems to build a metrics and monitoring solution used by thousands of customers. You must enjoy motivating the team and earning their respect.
All team members, whether local or remote, commit code to GitHub, communicate over Slack (and other methods) to push code to production via our ChatOps bot and run all production applications on AWS. Direct the work of the product line software development teams
Drive the strategic direction for the cloud engineering teams to align with the needs of the business
Contribute to the overall engineering strategy of the company
Supervise, mentor and grow members of the local management and engineering team
Ability to clearly distill complex and ambiguous situations into actionable plans for your team
Collaborate with architects, product managers and technical support to deliver high-quality, technically sound products on schedule with great user experience
Drive all aspects of recruiting including, but not limited to, attracting great talent and retaining a highly skilled, proficient engineering team
Establish and maintain solid software engineering and project management practices
Being part of local senior leadership ensure successful growth of the business
You successfully managed a big R&D team
You have BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
You have 10+ years of experience designing, developing and shipping commercial software
You have a solid understanding of agile software development processes
You are able to communicate effectively across departments, to executives and with technical and non-technical audiences in English
You have strong people management skills (able to coach and mentor both individual contributors and managers)
You have strong project management skills and you are able to work under pressure
You lead by example and can spark passion and motivate the local team to give a stellar performance
You are flexible and adopt fast to growth of the company and regular changes in priorities
You are driven and constantly seek ways to improve yourself, the team, and the operation
You love to get your hands dirty and resolve potential problems
