Solarwinds Inc. Manager, User Experience in Ottawa, Ontario
As a User Experience (UX) leader, you help define and drive the future of SolarWinds product design. You work with our UX leadership team to define UX strategy, envision technically complex UX ecosystems, and inspire teams to push the boundaries of what is possible. You possess a clear passion for user-centered design and have the courage to pursue and push towards forward-thinking visions.
In this role, you will apply your passion for empathy, creativity, and craft to guide research and design processes, mentor members of your team, and collaborate with leaders of other UX, Product Management and Engineering teams to create innovative experiences across SolarWinds’ product portfolio.
You are a great team leader, manager, and systems-level thinker – with strong instincts and outstanding design sensibility – who will provide leadership and direction for a distributed team of designers and researchers. Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship for a distributed team of UX Designers and Researchers
Lead creative thinking across diverse products and platforms within our portfolio
Contribute to the larger SolarWinds user experience vision
Build strong relationships and operating rhythms with other business stakeholders to efficiently deliver user experiences that are cohesive, effective, and delightful
Be an effective advocate for user-centered design in a dynamic business climate; championing a user-centric focus at the intersection of design, product management and engineering
Ensure the success of product releases through proper prioritization, efficient design processes, and strong integration within our product development lifecycle
10 years of experience in UX Design, UX Research or related fields
3 years of experience managing or leading UX Design or UX Research teams
Professional portfolio of work demonstrating excellence in digital product design/research and a solid execution of user-centric design processes
Effectiveness working with a distributed team to deliver efficient design solutions
Effectiveness in working across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
University qualification in the field of HCI or UX Design or the equivalent
Background working with IT management software and users
Understanding of Lean, Agile, Scrum or similar product development approaches
Experience working in enterprise software space
