Solarwinds Inc. Director, Sales Operations in Ottawa, Ontario

Overview

The Director Sales Operations is responsible for supporting the Sales Organization and driving continuous improvement in productivity and effectiveness of the sales team. Perform all aspects of sales operations including sales strategy and analysis, requirements gathering, compensation plans, process and system design, and report development. This is a highly visible position with significant opportunity for business impact within a dynamic environment.

Relationships

Reports to: VP Finance & Operations

Works closely with: Sales Management, General Manager, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Channel Partners, Legal, Pricing, HR, business applications team

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive sales leadership support and business partnering.

  • Support Salesforce.com and related tools with enhancements, user support and training, including second level interface to end users for questions and issues.

  • Lead business process requirements and system design enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Work closely with business applications team on implementation.

  • Drive discounting and pricing policies globally. Align business strategies with pricing, discounts, and compensation.

  • Drive compensation plan changes to drive accelerated growth and desired outcomes for the business.

  • Direct end user training related to sales operations processes and systems

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of all sales reporting, dashboards, metrics and analyses.

  • Serve as cross functional operations liaison with extended teams including Marketing, Finance, Pricing, Incentive Compensation, Legal.

  • Accountable for the successful execution and adoption of all sales operations procedures and processes within the sales group.

  • Responsible for managing data integrity.

  • Manage and direct assigned direct reports, including leadership, planning, and mentoring.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years sales operations, business operations or related field experience

  • 5+ Salesforce.com experience preferred, including report development

  • Executive sales leadership support and strong business partnering skills.

  • Excellent support and training skills – Can comprehend the business needs of users and reach out to them at their level

  • Experience leading, managing and developing staff

  • Ability to work with and through people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans

  • Ability to effectively manage through ambiguity in assigned work tasks

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and motivational skills
