The Advanced Reporting team in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking for a new technical lead developer to lead the design and implementation of Advanced Reporting and other projects. He/She will also act as a first point of technical contact with other teams and departments, and will be coaching and mentoring other engineers on the Newcastle office and others.
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues with simple and elegant solutions
Continually identify areas of improvement with respect to product supportability, development process, quality, and technology stack
Lead the design, implementation, and testing of new features
Mentor other team members, provide technical guidance, and share best practices both within and outside the team
Build secure, scalable, distributed and fault-tolerant cloud-based systems, following Agile development processes
Perform code reviews at all levels
Be self-driven, with focus on achieving team goals and overall project delivery milestones
Ideally 7+ years designing and developing commercial software
Experience with a major client-side UI framework (Angular, React, etc.)
Knowledge on event-driven architecture
Demonstrated proficiency in multiple areas of programming (e.g. web development, concurrency, design patterns, etc.)
API technologies (REST, GraphQL, etc)
Experience running large applications on one or more public clouds (preferably AWS)
Experience with good source control concepts and tools (Git or similar) · Working knowledge of automated testing patterns and practices
Ability to learn new products and programming languages quickly
Experience working with databases and data warehouses
Excellent problem solving skills; can triage and resolve critical tech issues without supervision
Experience working in and leading distributed teams
Experience on object oriented development (C++, Java...)
Awareness on continuous delivery and how to apply it to a software development project
