Solarwinds Inc. Product Owner in Netanya, Israel


The SolarWinds Database Performance Monitoring (DPM) platform team is looking for a hands-on experienced Product Owner that will report to Product Engineering to drive technical initiatives through all stages of the development lifecycle as well as being a liaison with Product Management, and other DPM teams.

We design and build systems for continuous high volume data storage, analysis, and presentation. The work is hands-on at the intersection of data, engineering, and product. You will be key in helping execute the strategy and tactics of how we store and process massive amounts of performance metrics and other data we capture from our customers' database servers.

As a SaaS product, our platform is written in Go / React, and hosted entirely on the AWS cloud. We use technologies like Kafka, Redis, MySQL, EKS, Linux, and Github (including Actions) among others. We’re building a 12-factor microservices application; we practice small cycles of rapid improvement and full exposure to the entire infrastructure.   • Responsible for innovation and end-to-end launch of products.

  • Works with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders, including analytics, design/user experience, engineering, and user enablement.

  • Turns data insights into products with actionable outcomes to the ultimate customer.

  • Works in an Agile environment and continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks.

  • Partners with stakeholders and customers across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.

  • Working with PM, develops, owns, and executes the Engineering product roadmap.

  • Works with user-focused departments to define the self-service user experience, support, and monitoring for customers.

  • Partners with sales departments to define the user experience for internal users, including support and monitoring.

  • Translates product roadmap features into well-defined technical requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.

  • Prioritizes and maintains the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing the requirements of stakeholders.

  • Develops and maintains appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investment.


  • Experience as a technical lead in backend infrastructure, software/web development, driving cross-organizational technical initiatives.

  • Experience working with SaaS cloud infrastructure from planning, through execution, to delivery and beyond.

  • Solid understanding of SaaS development and release models and experience in managing load testing and other release readiness tasks – able to drill down and ensure all items are covered by Engineering and Technical Operations.

  • Strong technical acumen. Ability to participate in and contribute to technical discussions for large-scale distributed services, proactively identify challenges and risks, and build a strong technical backlog for the platform based on clearly identified engineering needs.

  • Good working knowledge of common open source database management software (eg. MySQL, PostgreSQL etc)

  • Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen.

  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.

  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability.

  • Some hands on experience with building blocks of cloud infrastructure and devops – compute, network, storage, Docker containers, CI/CD, build, deploy, run, operate.

  • Prior work with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.

Day to Day :

  • This position is managed remotly and most of the team is located in North America.

Work hours flexibility is needed.

  • Owns products backlog, helps balancing priorities (features, technical and architecture improvements, bugs, etc.).

  • Translates and breaks down product requirements from various stakeholders to epics and user stories.

  • Plans and tracks releases based on engineering estimates and collaborates with other product owners.

  • Owns delivery of releasing on time; accepts finished work.

  • Drives sprint planning and review.

  • Coordinates product-related cross department activities as a primary contact (support, sales, architecture, and other).

  • Conducts and manages retrospectives.

  • Leads automation of tools and reporting processes that fulfill KPIs and OKRs.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 year of experience in Product Management and/or Product Development

  • Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer-first mindset

  • Experienced in moving manuel processes to automated platforms for tracking and reporting

  • Established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, understanding of Agile principles

  • Experience successfully driving end-to-end delivery of data and intelligence solutions, including a wide variety of mechanisms, e.g. dashboards, APIs, real time alerts, etc.

  • Experience working with remote engineering teams.

  • Experience with database platforms is a plus.

  • Experience in some level of code and/or writing automation scripts is a plus.
