Overview

The SolarWinds Cloud portfolio develops unique cloud-based platforms designed to help companies collect, visualize, store, trace, and create alerts on large amounts of streaming data to manage the health of their applications.

We are looking for an UX Designer to help us build the new features for our applications which power our monitoring, tracing, and metrics service platforms used by nearly 1 million end users.

You will work as part of an experienced UX team, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including sales, product managers, executives, development and other company stakeholders, leading UX throughout the planning and development lifecycle. The position requires an absolute customer focus, with a data-driven approach. The ideal candidate will be able to act well with minimal direction, lead, and be able to thrive in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

What would you do?

• Turn high level product requirements into workflows and designs

• Take a complex technical problem and make an attractive, easy-to-use UI

• Mock up solutions to usability issues quickly – design solutions in minutes and hours, not days and weeks

• Thoughtfully incorporate feedback from many channels (users, developers, product managers, quantitative analytics, etc.) into design revisions

• Share and communicate designs with cross-functional, worldwide teams

• Participate in business and UI reviews with multidisciplinary product teams

• Think like a user of the software

• Lead design efforts on large projects

Qualifications

What do we expect you to know/have?

• UI/UX design proven track record

• Experience testing UI designs and software for usability

• Programming skills (JavaScript)

• Soft skills: team player with excellent verbal/written communication skills

The ideal candidate is someone with prior experience in UI/UX design of Web/Application interfaces. Is comfortable working in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InVision, Balsamiq, Axure and has HTML/CSS experience. Has knowledge of current web trends and technology. Is creative and able to drive design efforts on large projects and able to validate designs with internal and external stakeholders.
