The Pre-Sales Engineer provides customers, sales staff and channel partners with technical product advice during pre-sales discussions and performs detailed online demonstrations during which they must effectively promote product features, answer audience questions and clearly ascertain the customer’s needs and requirements.
The Sales Engineer will demonstrate expert knowledge of the company’s products and will be assist customers wherever necessary during their product evaluations. This will include responding to technical queries via email, remote assistance, troubleshooting and solving moderately complex pre-sales support problems. if you have engineering, systems engineering, solutions architecture, network/system administration, technology consulting or relevant presales experience then get in touch
Performing technical pre-sales support activities in support of the company's products.
Conducting online product demonstrations and webinars.
Answering technical questions from potential customers and channel partners.
Maintaining and continually upgrades technical understanding of products and provides training to other team members where necessary.
Advising Inside Sales (IS) in all technical pre-sales support functions, providing technical advice to IS and Partners on the best solutions to fit customer requirements.
Performing pre-sales technical support duties, including product configuration and troubleshooting of customer issues.
Performing training to different departments internally – sales, renewals, support, marketing.
Working closely with marketing to organize events.
Working with Product Marketing and Management teams on product performance.
Conveying customer feedback including feature requests and product issues to Product Management and Development teams.
Presenting at partner events and trade shows.
Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills are critical.
Must possess strong reasoning and technical troubleshooting skills.
Must have a curious mind, capable of figuring out complex topics.
Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who is eager to learn and creative.
Possess a strong desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced sales organization.
Technically oriented possessing an aptitude for rapidly learning complex software applications.
Possess strong business aptitude.
Ability to rapidly assimilate and distil complex topics in the form of a presentation.
Must be an expert in one or more areas of IT infrastructure or software.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant Business or Computing discipline or 6+ years’ experience in related field (Technology consulting, presales, network engineer, network administrator and systems, storage, virtualization admin or similar IT related job function)
Experience in delivering technical training to pre-sales and or/sales staff internally and externally to partners and end users.
Substantial experience with TCP/IP based networks and a fundamental understanding of Network and Application Management protocols including SNMP, SNMP Traps, Syslogs, ICMP, WMI.
Server (Windows 2008+, UNIX or Linux) experience.
Windows or Unix Scripting (VB, Perl, shell) experience highly desirable.
CCNA, MCSA OR MCSE or working towards also desirable.
