Solarwinds Inc. Sr. Site Reliability Engineer in Brno, Czech Republic

Overview

Solarwinds is undergoing explosive growth and success with our SAAS offerings—we are seeking experienced SRE, or DevOps Engineers , to join our team.

The successful candidate will possess deep technical expertise and be capable of mentoring other team members, and should have prior experience managing high volume SAAS environments.

The SolarWinds Cloud portfolio develops unique cloud-based platforms designed to help companies collect, visualize, store, trace, and create alerts on large amounts of streaming data to manage the health of their applications.

The products in our portfolio include; Pingdom , PaperTrail , Loggly , and AppOptics .

Responsibilities

Activities you will be involved in:

  • Plan, manage and provide systems infrastructure and application support.

  • Write code in Ruby , Python , and configuration management to automate repetitive tasks.

  • Senior level technical skills and able to provide mentoring to team members.

  • Optimize the entire software delivery pipeline with quality built in.

  • Use Agile methodologies to enable high team velocity.

  • Troubleshooting and solving complex problems with skilled colleagues.

  • Participate in on-call rotation.

  • Our team uses practices to maximize our development velocity, including but not limited to: ChatOps , continuous integration/deployment , code review via GitHub pull requests, and preferring asynchronous communication to meetings.

Qualifications

What is required for this position?

  • Senior to Expert level Linux skills.

  • Hands on experience with AWS deployments, at scale.

  • Comfortable with a variety of *NIX platforms.

  • Scripting language experience (bash, Ruby, Python).

  • Experience with cloud-based deployment.

  • Attention to detail and focus on quality

  • Customer orientation

  • Interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to act decisively and works well under pressure

  • Must be a collaborative problem solver

  • Ability to use English on a daily basis (reasonable spoken)

What are some other desired skills?

  • Experience implementing DevOps practices.

  • Experience designing large scale SAAS solutions

  • Experience managing significant load in the wild, comfortable with scale-out tiers, resiliency.

  • Knowledge of Metrics, Monitoring, Graphite, Logstash, SaltStack, Terraform, Kafka
