Solarwinds Inc. Lead Site Reliability Engineer (ultra-scalable project) in Brno, Czech Republic
The SolarWinds Cloud portfolio develops unique cloud-based platforms designed to help companies collect, visualize, store, trace, and create alerts on large amounts of streaming data to manage the health of their applications.
We are looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to oversee the SRE team for our Loggly product. you will help us build the scalable backend systems that power our monitoring, tracing, and metrics service platforms used by nearly 1 million end users.
Activities you will be involved in:
Oversee daily operational activities, ensure proactive best practices, and deliver a high level of customer service.
Track key performance and capacity metrics to ensure consistent and proactive management of service delivery.
Primary liaison with product development teams concerning support of product delivery timelines. Active participation in daily stand-up meetings.
Mentoring team members.
Plan, manage and provide systems infrastructure and application support.
Write code in Ruby, Python , and configuration management to automate repetitive tasks.
Expert level technical skills and able to provide mentoring to team members.
Optimize the entire software delivery pipeline with quality built in.
Use Agile methodologies to enable high team velocity.
Troubleshooting and solving complex problems with skilled colleagues. On-call rotation.
Our team uses practices to maximize our development velocity, including but not limited to: ChatOps, continuous integration/deployment, code review via GitHub pull requests, and preferring asynchronous communication to meetings.
What is required for this position?
Comfortable with a variety of *NIX platforms.
Experience with scripting language experience (bash, Ruby, Python).
Experience with cloud-based deployment and ephemeral hardware.
Experience designing and implementing SAAS solutions
Ability to use English on a daily basis (reasonable spoken)
Attention to detail and focus on quality
What are some other desired skills?
prior lead experience
Experience implementing DevOps practices.
Experience managing significant load in the wild, comfortable with scale-out tiers, resiliency.
Experience managing large AWS infrastructures.
Knowledge of Metrics, Monitoring, Graphite, Logstash, SaltStack, Kafka
