Solarwinds Inc. Senior Sales and Use Tax Accountant in Austin, Texas
SolarWinds is looking for a Senior Sales & Use Tax Accountant to report to the Tax Director and be an integral part of the tax team. The Senior Tax Accountant will be primarily responsible for all aspects of state and local sales & use tax, including planning, compliance, and audit defense. Additional responsibilities include assistance with other indirect taxes, including VAT.
Review of sales tax data, preparation, and filing of sales & use tax returns
Manage and participate in implementation of software solution for indirect tax automation
Perform tax research, interpret tax law, and communicate findings to management and other internal stakeholders and departments
Develop and implement indirect tax process and procedures
Assist with taxing authorities’ audit/examinations
Register and file any new federal and state licenses and registrations for the Company as needed
Monitor applicable legislative developments and law changes relevant to the Company's business operations
Work effectively with indirect tax outside service providers
Work collaboratively with other Finance functions on various projects
Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, or Finance.
Certified Public Accountant or seeking CPA certification
Tax professional with minimum 2 years related experience (public accounting experience preferred)
Technical knowledge of state and local sales & use tax laws, regulations, and policies (software industry knowledge preferred)
Knowledge of global VAT systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Great attention to detail
