The Account Executive is responsible for using the SolarWinds sales model to create and develop new sales opportunities and to sell software consistently and predictably to achieve predetermined sales targets; while at the same time ensuring a satisfied customer base which allows us to build a sustainable business for future success in the territory.
The Account Executive has responsibility for self-generating activity within an assigned territory, including:
Achieving sales targets for SolarWinds products, solutions and initiatives within specific time frames across the installed customer base and new strategic customer opportunities
Using Salesforce.com as a productivity tool and championing its use within the Sales Organization
Providing timely and accurate business forecasts to sales and executive management
Managing direct and channel partner business transactions
Working closely with other cross-functional management teams in the marketing and product groups
Must be incredibly self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a sales team by example
Ability to understand sales numbers and manage to daily sales metrics
Ability to make adjustments to maintain deal velocity and momentum
Ability to understand and communicate business concepts
Ability to adapt to changing business issues and requirements and be creative in suggesting new approaches
Minimum of 3 years in a quota carrying sales role with demonstrated achievement
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- BS/BA preferred
