Want to be a technical Platform Product Manager at an exciting, fast-paced tech company in the IT Management market? As a Platform Product Manager, you will help drive the product roadmap, conduct market research, listen to existing customers and prospects, as well as work with internal and external stakeholders to build platform services that will enable features across the Orion product portfolio. All while working with a tightly coupled cross-functional team of highly talented and experienced professionals.
The Orion platform provides common features and services shared across the portfolio. These services span across multiple areas such as authentication, credential management, role-based-access control, alerting, reporting, APIs, dashboarding, messaging and other common services.
The product manager is at the epicenter of everything in the company related to product. It's a leadership role which is widely respected throughout the company. It requires a blend of technical knowledge, business acumen, and people skills.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Product Manager, it's up to you to define a successful business strategy and product roadmap, then to work with Engineering, UX, and others to execute on that strategy. You are also responsible for evangelizing the platform, defining roadmaps, creating epics, and user stories, while working with the Product Owner on ensuring those stories are successfully delivered. In addition, you will be responsible for various GTM activities including delivering webinars, conducting analyst briefings, and sales enablement.
Provide thought leadership, drive the product roadmap, conduct market research, and listen to existing customers & prospects.
Work closely with individual module PMs to understand their platform requirements and expected businesses outcomes so they can be prioritized appropriately.
Work with our UX team to create visual designs based on your requirements, vetting those with customers and internal stakeholders before engineering implements
Work directly with Product Marketing on your product’s messaging, go to market plan, and strategy
Understand the importance of metrics and telemetry to validate hypothesis and strengthen business cases
Work closely with engineering, answering questions and providing guidance on defined requirements
Work with PM peers to align roadmaps and dependencies throughout the portfolio
What You Need
The successful candidate will have a proven track record understanding dynamic markets, making plans that generate results, and working with the leadership team to align execution to market opportunity. A strong drive and ambition
Experience with requirements gathering & prioritization, preferably as a software product manager
Strong presentation, communication, coordination, analytical, and creative problem-solving expertise
Strong technical background with demonstrated skills and experience with technical functions in the IT industry
Track record of shipping successful products or delivering successful projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Understanding of product marketing, business markets, market research, data analysis and business case modelling
Ability to interact with customers, partners, and press/analysts with accuracy and professionalism
Ability to think and execute at both strategic and operational levels
Demonstrated self-motivation and self-discipline to work effectively and thrive in a high-paced, goal-oriented environment
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Previous Product Management experience working on a shared software platform
Direct, hands-on experience managing and monitoring IT environments
