As a SolarWinds’ People Advocate, you will serve as the first point of contact for employees in Austin and possibly other North American sites on day-to-day People-related issues and inquiries. In this dynamic and multifaceted role, you will advise and execute People programs to enable the business to achieve its goals. The role is a generalist role with an emphasis on onboarding administration, global mobility, and employee relations. You will conduct confidential and complex investigations, partnering with HRBPs, and Legal to advise managers on providing performance coaching, performance improvement plans, policy interpretation, onboarding administration, compliance, terminations, and exit interviews in accordance with SolarWinds’ policy, and federal and state-mandated regulations. Serve as liaison between managers and employees; advise and coach managers and employees, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
Coordinate with managers to provide information on addressing issues and making policy and procedural changes.
Facilitate and provide support on global mobility scenarios and see through to completion.
Collaborate/liaise with functional area specialists (Compensation, Benefits, Talent, People Operations, and Learning and Development), as well as business leaders to develop, implement and communicate programs aligned to HR functional goals in benefits & rewards, performance management, engagement, retention & mobility to build a great place to work.
In partnership with Legal, lead complex investigations and provide guidance and advice to management and employees to resolve highly sensitive and confidential workplace issues, including workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation complaints, complex accommodation, wage & hour, performance and disciplinary issues in a fair, consistent, timely and accurate manner while keeping aligned with SolarWinds' policies and procedures to minimize potential legal risk.
In partnership with Legal, ensure compliance with company legal and People practices within area of responsibility and with legislative and regulatory requirements, standards and other relevant policies and guidelines.
Identify trends and provide input to HRBPs to gather the right attention needed to resolve issues.
Provide guidance to managers and supervisors regarding People practices, policy and employment laws.
Monitor and ensure the effective use of data to report key metrics and trends and to create actionable data for coaching and development for both internal clients and the People Team.
Provide assistance generating and distributing required reports by developing queries for analysis and operational effectiveness.
Process employee exits/terminations via exit interviews and ensure all relevant transactions are recorded in the HRIS system.
Provide recommendations and implement solutions to motivate and retain employees.
Lead, facilitate &/or participate in projects and training.
Bachelors' in human resources, general business or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in employee relations or HR generalist experience.
Global mobility experience.
Benefits and onboarding administration experience preferred.
Self-starter with the ability to adapt interpersonal style and influence effectively at all levels in the organization. Demonstrate tact and diplomacy.
Possess resilience and ability to handle high volume and pivot within a dynamic environment.
Ability to analyze facts, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
Strong consultancy (negotiation and influencing skills, ability to influence and drive positive change) needed for consensus building.
Demonstrated success in deescalating intense employee relations matters.
Knowledge of how to “read the room” and tailor solutions, coaching and advise accordingly.
Ability to align with organizational values and decisions despite personal opinion.
Deep knowledge of legal and regulatory aspects within US employment and labor laws (State & Federal).
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, establish trust and credibility and act with complete integrity.
Strong business acumen and broad HR experience with a proven track record and ability to partner and collaborate with HR colleagues, functional specialists and internal clients.
Demonstrated ability to use data to make decisions and support actions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare written reports, correspondence, and presentations.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, Sharepoint).
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
