Solarwinds Inc. Marketing Automation Program Manager in Austin, Texas


The Marketing Automation Program Manager role is at the core of the Marketing Operations organization and is critical to the automation team and the business. It is primarily responsible for the day-to-day development, support and go-to-market for projects related to our email production, automation and database list pulls among others. This role is essential to the Marketing Operations team to drive cross-department initiatives, and to work closely with other Marketing Operations peers and Marketing Managers, along with other internal business stakeholders to create, manage and deliver a smooth, fast and reliable process for marketing automation projects.


  • Manage and traffic requests coming through to the Marketing Operations team.

  • Responsible for continuously optimizing and managing request process and volume.

  • Manage estimation and scoping of email production and list pull projects. Responsible for managing email production capacity and time of delivery for stakeholders.

  • Work closely with Marketing Automation, Marketing and various stakeholders to implement and support the company's automation and Tech Stack strategy.

  • Drive program success by collaborating and providing the highest level of service to various stakeholders. Managing projects by implementing and using PMI or Agile methodology is a must.

  • Create and manage various operational reports to support capacity management and help drive current and future investments.

  • Manage a small team, multiple agencies and all budget allocated to the team


  • High energy levels, ability to work independently, enthusiasm and can-do attitude is a must

  • Minimum 5+ years project/program management experience – this position works closely with marketing, IT, and marketing automation peers through the entire project lifecycle

  • Top quality project and program management discipline is a must

  • Expert level experience estimating, prioritizing, planning, and coordinating project activities

  • Expert level experience writing clear, concise and comprehensive project plans

  • Comfortable moving quickly with limited information in a “test, learn, adapt” culture

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience in managing projects effectively from start to end


  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of marketing tech stack such as Marketo a plus

  • Experience in managing teams a plus but not required
