Solarwinds Inc. Global Benefits Manager in Austin, Texas

Overview

The Manager, Global Benefits reports to the Senior Director, Total Rewards, and oversees the design, deployment, and renewal of all global benefit programs for SolarWinds, including insured plans, pension schemes, time away programs, and other perks. The position will lead market research initiatives, program and vendor evaluations, and recommend effective benefit plan designs, and will partner with local HR for the implementation, communication, and administration of employee benefit plans globally. The Manager, Global Benefits directly manages two benefits analysts and has dotted line responsibility for an additional HR Operations resource, but also has a large hands-on role for critical projects, including M&A due diligence and integration, and other projects. SolarWinds currently operates in 16 countries and has over 2700 employees.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and oversees renewals and governance for all global employee benefit programs, including time away, health and welfare, retirement, income protection, life/death, and perk programs

  • Advises and informs management on the state of benefits worldwide, demonstrating an understanding of the market dynamics, key competitor benefit plan design, and industry trends

  • Uses competitive market data to develop and implement strategic plans for enhancing and optimizing benefits value and delivery

  • Provide cost estimates for all program recommendations and renewals, and partners with finance and accounting to ensure programs are properly planned and accounted for

  • Ensures benefit programs are communicated in a meaningful and relevant manner that engages and educates employees

  • Evaluates and monitors local benefits brokers and global benefits consultants to ensure appropriate service levels are met

  • Works with local HR teams to monitor in-country benefits vendors, and works with brokers and local HR to replace underperforming vendors when necessary

  • Partners with legal in evaluating benefit program compliance with local employment regulations around the world

  • Support local HR teams as needed for benefit issue escalations

  • Additional responsibilities will be added based on business need

Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of experience working with employee benefit programs, including at least 2 years setting strategy for international benefit programs

  • 3 or more years of experience managing a team

  • Strong knowledge of pension plans, medical leaves and other absences, time away benefits, and insured plans across multiple countries

  • Proficient working with Excel to evaluate data and summarize findings

  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear manner

  • Ability to manage projects, self-direct, manage multiple priorities and work in a results oriented environment

  • Strong attention to detail
