Below is a summary of our Monitoring Cloud portfolio of Products and the primary problem they solve for nearly 1 million end users.

Pingdom – Digital experience and end user monitoring

TraceView – Application Performance Monitoring (APM) for code-level insights

Librato – Aggregation of cloud metrics into real-time monitoring dashboards

Papertrail – Cloud-hosted log management for troubleshooting

Pingdom Server Monitor – Cloud-based server monitoring

We are looking for talented people who like to solve challenging problem with energy!


  • Proven data-driven, inquisitive mindset: Have you done this before? Tell us! Perhaps this was your job. Maybe you instrumented/measured and iteratively improved a side project, or even quantified some part of your own life. If so, explain it.

  • Ingenuity: A combination of software development experience, human psychology/UX, and interest in software-based/SaaS business models. What’s a cohort analysis? What problems does it solve? What problems does it have? How would you implement one using modern tools and Ruby?

  • Data geek: Do you enjoy collecting, analyzing, and understanding the gaps in a data set? Have you used tools like Mixpanel, Amplitude, and Heap?

  • Respect for customers: Our users have brains and opinions. Do you respect your users and care about the whole business, not just a single metric?

  • The types of things you will do

  • Apply customer funnel analysis, rigorous A/B testing, data mining and analysis tools to optimize campaigns, test growth theories and make new customer acquisition work and present your findings to management without bias

  • Build dynamic landing pages for each product

  • Focus on understanding how new users discover and adopt our products

  • Search through data from our more active and passionate users and discover the deep core patterns that encouraged those users to become active

  • Assist the digital marketing team with content development, email campaigns, SEO analysis


  • At least 2 years of software development experience, including at least 1 professional software development or engineering role

  • 1 scripting language (preferably Ruby and / or JavaScript)

  • Demonstrated quantitative skills in your work or personal experience

  • Demonstrated passion for testing, analyzing and iterating in your work or personal experience

  • Experience analyzing and visualizing data (like a SaaS conversion funnel) with both SQL and Excel

Nice to Have :

  • Experience with viral marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and APIs (Amazon API, AdWords API, social media APIs), Google Analytics, familiarity with sales tools and CRM systems

  • Experience working with a distributed team, such as via Slack, GitHub, and Google Apps
