This role will work closely with Business Development team to find and develop large opportunities within the existing SolarWinds federal customer base and to present solutions to multiple stakeholders including technicians, managers, executives and partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Business Development team to find and develop large opportunities within the existing SolarWinds federal customer base

  • Present solutions to multiple stakeholders including technicians, managers, executives and partners

  • Understand federal government IT operations challenges and describe appropriate SolarWinds solutions to them

  • Meet with existing customers to provide technical updates of SolarWinds technology while identifying new opportunities

  • Travel (up to 30%) both locally and nationally for customer visits, tradeshows and Headquarters meetings

  • Install, configure and keep up to date, all SolarWinds software in the corporate SE lab for self-training and demo purposes

  • Help install and configure SolarWinds software in prospect’s environment to meet requirements during Proof of Concepts and evaluations.

  • Learn all SolarWinds products and stay current as new versions are released

  • Work with Product Management team to communicate product issues, federal customer feedback and feature/functionality requests.

  • Write and coordinate technical responses to RFP, RFQ, and RFI documents

  • Troubleshoot technical issues during evaluations

Qualifications:

  • experience presenting technical solutions to multiple federal stakeholders from the IT professional through IT Director and Senior Executives

  • Work out of the Herndon, VA office when not travelling

  • U.S. degree preferred in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical discipline

  • Have established relationships with government employees and contractors at one or more federal agencies

  • Ability to read and edit scripts on both Windows and Linux platforms.

  • Solid understanding of the federal IT community with exceptional ability to position solutions to technical problems

  • Use Visio and PowerPoint to create custom technical design documents for complex solutions

  • Comfortable presenting to large audiences

  • Ability to travel to meet with customers

  • S. Citizenship required

  • DOD Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred
