SolarWinds MSP is actively seeking a Sr. Product Marketing Manager to drive go-to-market efforts for a core SaaS offering within its best-in-class Remote Monitoring & Management and Security suite—Email Management. The role is part of a global product marketing team and can be based in Durham (NC), Austin (TX), Boulder (CO) or San Francisco (CA).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Market Definition – Identify and validate urgent, pervasive problems in your designated market by interviewing customers, recent evaluators and potential buyers. Map their needs with target markets and analyze the market segments to pursue. Define buyer and user personas.
Product Positioning and Messaging – Describe the product in terms of its ability to solve market problems, and create crisp and compelling messages that drive market acceptance and growth. Capture the imagination of IT professionals with a fresh and creative approach.
Product Launch – Own the product launch process and plan to ensure that all business functions are prepared for new product releases. Ensure that new features and releases get the needed visibility and exposure, both externally and with Sales, to achieve revenue goals.
Sales Tools – Work closely with Sales to understand their challenges and needs relative to selling the offering, and create and maintain a playbook of sales tools to help Sales succeed, including characteristics of good/bad opportunities, buyer insights, key messages and sales collateral.
Competitive Analysis – Collaborate with Sales, Sales Engineering, and Support teams to identify competitive and alternative offerings in the market, assess their strengths and weaknesses, and develop a strategy for winning against the competition.
Voice of Customer – Act as “messenger of the market” and “voice of the customer” to influence the product roadmap and drive customer retention and growth. Document customer successes and key use cases to drive repeatability and scale.
BA/BS degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive product marketing experience in high-tech, high-growth, preferably Software as a Service (SaaS) environments; product management experience a plus
Experience marketing or selling to Managed Service Providers (MSPs) strongly preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to express technical concepts in the form of crisp, value-based messages
A proven ability to produce creative, memorable, high-impact marketing content in support of product launches and related initiatives
Strong technical and sales orientation, and the ability to connect with and relate to both Product Management and Sales to act as the bridge between the two
An ability to navigate and thrive in a cross-functional, highly matrixed environment, on a global scale
Prior experience with IT service management (ITSM) software – RMM, Backup, Service Desk – and/or IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), a plus
Pragmatic Marketing Certification (PMC), a plus
