Solarwinds Inc. Sales Manager – Cloud Monitoring in Austin, Texas

Overview:

We are seeking a technically oriented Sales Leader to help build the team to sell our current and future SaaS-based offerings. We’re looking for a natural leader with experience in selling SaaS offerings to DevOps organizations who can lead the next wave of our sales growth. In addition to managing the team selling our SaaS-based offerings, the candidate filling this role will work closely with the Cloud executive team in designing our customer acquisition strategy, and in driving the success of the business. This role is based in Austin.

Responsibilities:

The Sales Leader has responsibility for all activity within the assigned territory, including:

  • Achieving sales targets for products, solutions and initiatives within specific time frames across multiple market segments

  • Using Salesforce.com as a sales management productivity tool and championing its use with the Sales Reps and SEs

  • Providing timely and accurate business forecasts to sales and executive management

  • Building and effectively leading an inside sales organization designed to sell to engineers through hiring, training and development of technical sales talent, and establishing appropriate objectives

  • Managing direct and channel partner business transactions

  • Working closely with other cross-functional management teams in engineering, marketing, product, and finance operations

  • Executing on appropriate internal and external processes

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years in a quota carrying sales role with demonstrated achievement selling to the Dev Ops community

  • Experience in both an individual contributor role and in sales management for a SaaS sales organization is preferred

  • Experience with Salesforce.com is a plus

  • Ability to lead, motivate and execute with a team of inside sales resources

  • Proven ability to recruit, train and scale a technical sales team against aggressive growth targets

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment with a distributed team

Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge of SaaS pricing/packaging models and software/SaaS buying behaviors and have sold SaaS to engineers

  • Tech savvy, able to evaluate technical competence of product advocate candidates and train and develop technical team members to build trust, grow relationships and offer suggestions to customers and prospects that will create business opportunity

  • Experience with early days of successful software or SaaS sales organization as it grew

  • Experience with various software products, including those designed for DevOps and IT

  • Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to build and motivate a sales organization to ensure the achievement of short and long term goals, objectives and quotas

  • Ability to understand sales numbers and manage to daily sales metrics

  • BS/BA preferred
